The Upper Room Daily Devotion | EPHESIANS 5:8-14
Ephesians 5:8-14 is a powerful reminder of our identity in Christ and the call to walk in the light of His truth.
The passage begins by declaring that we were once in darkness, but now we have been brought into the light of Christ. As believers, we have been redeemed and forgiven, and we are called to walk in the truth of His love and grace.
But this call to walk in the light is not just for our own benefit. We are called to shine the light of Christ into the world around us, to expose the darkness and bring hope and healing to those who are lost and hurting.
As we live out our identity as children of the light, we are called to put away the deeds of darkness and to live as those who have been transformed by the power of Christ’s love. We are called to live in righteousness and truth, and to seek to please the Lord in all that we do.
As we reflect on this passage, let us be challenged to examine our own lives and ask ourselves if we are truly walking in the light of Christ. Are there areas where we are still holding onto the darkness of sin and unbelief? Are there areas where we need to repent and turn back to the light of Christ’s truth?
Let us embrace our identity as children of the light, and let us shine brightly into the world around us, bringing hope and healing to those who are lost and hurting. And let us walk in righteousness and truth, seeking to please the Lord in all that we do.
