The Upper Room Daily Devotion | EXODUS 17:1-7

Exodus 17:1-7 is a powerful passage that speaks about the faithfulness of God and the importance of trusting in Him, even in the midst of our struggles and challenges.

In this passage, the Israelites are wandering in the wilderness and facing a shortage of water. They begin to complain and argue with Moses, questioning why he brought them out of Egypt if they were just going to die in the wilderness.

Moses cries out to the Lord for help, and God responds by instructing him to strike a rock with his staff. When he does, water flows from the rock, and the people are able to drink and be refreshed.

This passage reminds us that God is faithful to provide for us, even in the midst of our struggles and challenges. The Israelites were facing a shortage of water, but God provided for them in a miraculous way. He is always at work in our lives, even when we cannot see it, and He has the power to meet our needs and provide for us in ways that we cannot imagine.

As we reflect on this passage, let us be encouraged to trust in God and His provision. Let us remember that He is always at work in our lives, even in the midst of our struggles and challenges. And let us trust in His faithfulness, knowing that He will never leave us or forsake us, and that He has the power to meet our needs and provide for us in every situation.
