The Upper Room Daily Devotion | John 3:1-17
John 3:1-17 is a well-known passage that speaks about the new birth and God’s love for the world. It contains one of the most famous verses in the Bible, John 3:16, which says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
As we read this passage, we are reminded of the amazing love that God has for us. He loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for our sins so that we could have eternal life. This love is not based on anything that we have done or deserve, but it is a free gift that we receive through faith in Jesus Christ.
Verse 3 says, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” This verse reminds us that we cannot enter into the kingdom of God on our own merits, but we must be born again through faith in Jesus Christ.
As we reflect on this passage, let us be encouraged to put our faith in Jesus Christ and receive the new birth that He offers. Let us also be reminded of God’s amazing love for us, a love that is beyond our understanding but one that we can experience through faith in His Son. And let us strive to live a life of gratitude and obedience, knowing that our salvation is secure in Him.
