Lucas 8:43-48

43 Kabilang sa mga ito ang isang babaing labindalawang taon nang dinudugo at hindi mapagaling ninuman. [Naubos na ang kanyang kabuhayan sa mga manggagamot.][a] 44 Lumapit siya sa likuran ni Jesus at hinawakan ang laylayan ng damit nito. Noon di’y tumigil ang kanyang pagdurugo. 45 Nagtanong si Jesus, “Sino ang humawak sa damit ko?”
Nang walang umamin, sinabi ni Pedro, “Panginoon, napapaligiran po kayo at sinisiksik ng mga tao!”
46 Ngunit sinabi ni Jesus, “May humawak sa damit ko! Naramdaman kong may kapangyarihang lumabas sa akin.”
47 Nang malaman ng babae na hindi pala maililihim ang kanyang ginawa, siya’y nanginginig na lumapit at nagpatirapa sa paanan ni Jesus. Pagkatapos, sinabi niya sa lahat ng naroon kung bakit niya hinawakan ang damit ni Jesus, at kung paanong siya’y agad na gumaling.
48 Kaya’t sinabi sa kanya ni Jesus, “Anak, pinagaling ka ng iyong pananampalataya. Umuwi ka nang mapayapa.”
Sermon Description
1. Faith and Healing: This passage demonstrates the power of faith.The woman had been suffering for twelve years, and despite spending all her resources on physicians, she was not healed.However, her faith in Jesus led to her healing. This can be a reminder that faith can bring about miraculous changes in our lives.
2. Jesus’ Compassion and Recognition: Despite being in a crowd, when the woman touched Jesus’ cloak, He immediately recognized it. Even though she was considered unclean according to the Mosaic Law, Jesus did not rebuke her. Instead, He acknowledged her faith and healed her. This shows Jesus’ compassion and His willingness to help those who seek Him, regardless of their status or condition.
3. The Personal Touch of Jesus: The story highlights the personal attention Jesus gives to each individual. Even in a crowd, Jesus noticed the touch of the woman, stopped, and addressed her. This illustrates that in the eyes of Jesus, no one is insignificant or overlooked. Everyone matters and is worthy of His attention and care.
