Enduring Trials, Experiencing God’s Grace (English)

1 Peter 4:12-14 – English Standard Version
12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory[a] and of God rests upon you.

1 Peter 5:6-11 – English Standard Version
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Sermon Description

================================================
MAIN POINTS
================================================

1. Suffering in joy and hope
-> Suffering is to be a witness to the truth of the faith (We don’t mind experiencing trials or problems because we know that God is with us and with God we have hope)
-> Our sufferings will pass, that is the hope that we have coming from God
-> Sufferings can make us cry, but as we stayed faithful to God. The tears will be wiped out with joy and smiles knowing that God is with us.

2. Be humble and persevere
-> Always think of Jesus being a model of humility and perseverance
-> The reason why we easily fall into sin is because we don’t know how to persevere. Jesus experienced extreme pain but He never gave up. He remained humbled until he claimed the victory.
-> Always remember that if we remained humble, God will lift us up

3. You’re not the only one who experienced pain
-> God will never isolate us to experience pain.
-> All of us in this world also experienced different problems, different trials or pain.
-> We are the Children of God, as we remain faithful to the Lord, we know that we can claim our victory over pain, problems or trials.
